bless this post.
Meat still taste good. I like my steak medium-rare with little to no seasoning, I gladly eat sushis and tartares.
Stop diet shaming and accept that some people eat meat in addition to plants products. What people put in their bodies is their business only and nobody else’s.
While that’s true, people need to get over the fact that eating meat is natural for humans to do. If it were natural, we’d be capable of killing an animal with our bare hands, ripping it open, and eating it raw. That’s a true carnivore. As a generally meat-eating society, our bodies are conditioned to eat it, but we thrive without it.
I disagree. Tool making and fire were massive selective pressures for early human ancestors.
People say, why do we not have the right gastric juices? Well, we do. For both raw and cooked, so what they’re different to those in a dog? We are not dogs, who knew?
People say we dont have the right teeth or skull. Learning is natural. Tool making is natural. Hunting is natural. So we don’t need big teeth and strong jaws to kill. That was never how we hunted. But still how can you bite off and chew? We used our knifes and cooked it till tender. This is what resulted in all our food groups being much easier to digest. Allowing for selection of smaller jaws and simpler digestive tracts which gave rise to bigger brains as more energy could be spent here when not wasted on digestion.
Including animals in our diet and industry gave early humans high energy meat, clothes, tools, shelter, “horse power”, companionship, farming, travel and probably much more. Animals have always played a bigger part than just food without them we wouldn’t have the advanced society we have today. Forget dark ages we’d be living in caves still with gorilla shaped skulls.
So there you go, yes it is human and natural to eat meat, raw or cooked. How is the taste relevant? It’s full of high quality nutrients. Yeah, you can get them in plants. Some meats are highly concentrated in certain nutrients that gave an evolutionary advantage. The whole raw eating diet? Yeah it is very healthy but more unnatural than people say. We evolved from fire and cooking. Clean eating? Food is food. Some is better than others. But clean? Seems like such a weird word to call food, especially good food.
